Positive displacement pumps, such as diaphragm and peristaltic pumps, produce pressure and flow pulsations downstream in the process. These pulsations adversely impact pressure and flow control in critical production steps such as TFF and Chromatography, resulting in poor process efficiency and throughput.
The DMP-7000 Pulsation Dampener from Malema Sensors is designed specifically for these single-use applications in the biopharma industry. Tests have shown that when DMP-7000 is installed downstream from an industry-standard diaphragm pump, peak-to-peak pulsations are reduced in excess of 95%. This smoothening results in finer flow measurement and control, significantly improving process efficiency and throughput.
The DMP-7000 is the latest product from Malema for single-use applications, joining the SumoFlo® Single-Use Coriolis flow meter and the BCV-980 bio proportional control valve. The DMP-7000 is manufactured from materials that meet USP Class VI and is gamma stable to 50 kGy. It is available in sizes from ¼” to 1”.
