Malema Excess Flow Valves are normally open, in-line safety devices that act to limit flow of liquids or gases out of a pressurized system. While they will pass normal flow rates, the flow valves will close when the flow rates exceed the preset value. This occurs in the event when a pressurized system is opened to atmosphere due to pipe rupture or hose breakage or due to wrong process operation. These excess flow valves are reset to open after the necessary repairs on the piping/hose are completed, by using either manual (external or integral bypass reset options) or auto reset means as ordered by the customer.
Malema Excess Flow Valves protect personnel, equipments, environment and facilities in the event of catastrophic line breaks caused by earthquake, accidents, landslide, corrosion or deliberate action and reduces the risk of hazardous and explosive fluid spills and exposure. These excess flow valves also helps companies avoid costly cleanups and process downtime.
Malema Excess Flow Valves are currently being used to control fluids including air, steam, nitrogen gas, oxygen gas, hydrogen gas, carbon dioxide gas, water, anhydrous ammonia, sulfuric acid, natural gas, gasoline, propane, and hydrocarbons.
Malema's customer support and application engineers are well trained and are ready to offer you the guidance when requested to select the right product to suit the application.
